Hi! I'm Abra Gabrielle.
I started HappyMadSad in 2018 on a journey of self discovery. I have utilized it over the years as a place to process what I learned in school and share different perspectives on the human experience. Over time, it has evolved into a place to share reflections, normalize and validate the human experience, provide musings on managing emotion, and create a space for creative processing.
In everything shared on HappyMadSad, there is an underlying goal to understand and process emotion in a way that improves our relationship with ourselves and others.
We live in a world where mental health is more accepted and talked about than ever before, and where self-care is an everyday household word for many. It has been a wonderful experience watching self-care grow, expand, and become a part of mainstream conversation, and it tells of an overall paradigm shift that has been happening for awhile now. The only thing missing is a deeper intention around processing emotion from day to day.
HappyMadSad is a space for anyone who is curious about their emotional self. Emotions show up differently for everyone, and these differences might come from your genetics, behaviors modeled by society, and from overall life experiences. But no matter how your emotions show up, there’s a place for you here.
